The International Forum to Advance First Responder Innovation (IFAFRI) is dedicated to promoting the creation and development of cost-effective technologies and innovative solutions to boost the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of first responders.
Around the globe, universities and research centers are conducting exceptional research to aid first responders. Research in civil security consistently aims to enhance first responder capabilities and fortify resilient communities.
However, as a researcher, how can I determine what is needed in the field? What daily challenges do first responders encounter? IFAFRI has identified 10 prevalent capability gaps faced by first responders worldwide, such as the need for "real-time geolocation in x, y, and z coordinates in various environments" and "real-time health monitoring of first responders".
This Capability Gap Showcase will introduce Capability Gap 3: “The ability to rapidly identify hazardous agents and contaminants” and related specific technical requirements to fulfil this gap.
